From despair to deliverance…

Adam was only 8 years old when his family was stopped by Michael Hayes (at gun point) along Old Salisbury Road in southern Forsyth County on Sunday, July 17, 1988 (23 years ago this Sunday). Adam’s father (Ronald) was fatally shot by Hayes and his mother (Darlene was wounded but survived).

Adam was traumatized by the tragic incident, suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for 16 years. Learn how Adam finally surrendered to God (through Jesus Christ) and was delivered from PTSD and the hatred that was tearing his life apart.

BIO background: Shawn has been on an interesting journey. His life has been marked by a string of heartaches, bad breaks, and personal mistakes, events that have landed him both in trouble with the law and in love with the Lord - in that order.
Shawn grew up in Eugene, Oregon, an angry, rebellious teen who was a drug addict and a drug dealer always getting into trouble. Shawn accepted Christ at age 20. He got into the music business in 2004. Perfect life? Not really… After several painful years together, Shawn and his wife officially ended their marriage in April 2010.
McDonald says he and his wife both made mistakes from the start, and they never found unity they'd longed for. "I was too young when I got married. I had no clue what I was doing. My parents were never in my life, so marriage had never really been modeled for me. I had no idea how hard it was going to be."

Update: City Council members in King will hold a public hearing on the Christian Flag debate on Monday Oct. 11 at 6pm at the King Elementary School Gym. At the hearing, the King City Council will present several options on how to deal with the situation.
Back on (Sept 16), the King City Council voted to remove the Christian Flag from the Veterans Memorial after the ACLU threatened a lawsuit.

Kyle Petty - Former NASCAR driver, now racing broadcaster with TNT
The 8th Annual "Ride to Victory" happens on Sunday, October 17. The one-day motorcycle riders will leave from the zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC, parade ride through Victory Junction Camp and finish up in Trinity with the "Songwriters Jam” at Kyle and Pattie Petty’s Farm on Finch Farm Road in Trinity.

Back on January 12th, Haiti’s capital city (Port-au-Prince) was devastated by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. An estimated 220,000 people died in the earthquake and another 300,000 more were injured. Nearly 290,000 homes were damaged or destroyed. 1.3 million people have been displaced. Some are calling the Haiti earthquake one of the worst natural disasters ever.

Operation Missing Man – NC
Operation Missing Man NC was formed by members of Rolling Thunder (NC - Chapter 4). The mission of OMM is to inform the general public of the efforts being made to bring home the remains of the remains of US soldiers. Specifically, to obtain the DNA from families of soldiers from North Carolina whose remains are being held at the Joint POW / MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) in Hawaii.
Presently, there are 43 North Carolina soldiers listed as MIA from the Vietnam War, 201 from the Korean War and many more from previous wars. As of June 2007…J-PAC has DNA samples from 30 of the Vietnam veteran families and 136 samples from Korean War veteran families.

Julie Walls Kiefer shares her testimony of battling cancer. Julie was diagnosed with a rare combination of Multiple Myeloma and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma back last summer. By God's grace she found out the last week of December that she is in remission with the Multiple Myeloma but is waiting for testing to find out about the Lymphoma.
